The Berlin is Garten’s gravimetric feeder, designed to perform proportional mixing of different granular products with high precision in continuous production lines. Dosing is performed by weight, which eliminates errors caused by density variations and ensures exact proportions in every cycle.
Designed to easily adapt to existing installations, the Berlin doses the required amount of each ingredient according to the operator’s predefined ratios. All feeders operate in an interconnected system: the operator sets the total line flow and the fraction assigned to each feeder, while the system automatically controls the flow. If any feeder runs out of product, the entire set is stopped to prevent formulation deviations.
The equipment uses microprocessing combined with digital filters for highly reliable statistical calculations. Its control panel with touchscreen HMI provides clear operation, full supervision, and integration with external systems via Ethernet, including supervisory software, databases, and file export. Communication with automation is handled through Modbus TCP, OPCUA, or RS485 RTU, ensuring compatibility with different industrial architectures.
The system also features a self-charging battery module capable of closing the gate in less than two seconds in case of a power outage or failure in any feeder, protecting the process from unwanted product accumulation. Depending on the model, the panel can control up to ten Berlin units in the same process, providing scalability and high operational performance.
With 99.5% accuracy and capacities that vary by model, the Berlin is a robust, efficient, and highly reliable solution for controlled mixing of granular products.
