The Sheriff is Garten’s monitoring system designed to prevent failures, accidents, and unplanned downtime in industrial conveyors. Engineered to operate across different types of equipment — such as bucket elevators, belt conveyors, screw conveyors, and chain conveyors — it uses strategically installed sensors to continuously track the most critical process parameters.

The sensors monitor misalignment, shaft rotation, blockages at inlets and outlets, bearing temperature, and motor temperature. All this information is read and interpreted by the Sheriff module, which makes the data available via RS485 Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP. The Marshall module, in turn, allows up to 30 Sheriff modules to be connected and displays all values through a web application, providing a centralized and clear view of the line’s status.

With this level of monitoring, the Sheriff helps extend the service life of bearings, prevent motor burnout due to overload, and avoid component failures such as bucket breakage in elevators — reducing maintenance and spare-part costs. The system also features automatic alarms for immediate action in case of irregularities and can be expanded modularly to support plant growth. ATEX sensors are also available for classified areas.

With continuous analysis, industrial communication, and flexible integration with external systems, the Sheriff delivers robust and intelligent control, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity throughout the entire operation.
